Meet the Director: Simone Van Der Kallen

About-Simone-Van-Der-Kallen

Having built a multi-million dollar national award winning business in the advertising industry, Simone has now developed The Human App.

‘Building a successful organisation is rewarding however I definitely had some extremely challenging situations along the way professionally and personally. With the benefit of hindsight one thing I know is that it doesn’t have to be so hard. There is nothing on this planet more satisfying than helping leaders get out of their own way, (getting real about things) and taking the necessary steps to have what they want professionally and personally. I love to challenge peoples thinking, stretching them to consider new possibilities, build their confidence, communicate courageously and see them grow to new dimensions.'

Working closely with CEO’s I understand that they have to make difficult and at times unpopular decisions. They are confined to thinking within a stakeholder environment and don’t have the freedom of thought and therefore opportunity to come up with the best decision. I work with high performing people to provide a space to help them deal with uncensored thinking. In this space I teach them how to benefit from integrating three centres of intelligence. HEAD, HEART and GUT.

I have an innate ability to pinpoint unique qualities and strengths in people. This ability allows me to get into the DNA of each organisation, to build and effectively achieve, their strategic objectives.

I have lived through the challenges and rewards of building a successful business. Having learnt some very tough lessons along the way, my passion and purpose is to be the support I wished I had to fundamentally save time, money, increase capability, realise choices available and improve the quality of life. Dubbed the ‘CEO Whisperer’ by clients, I bring energy, enthusiasm and unconditional positive regard to others to create The Human App.

Mission

Community Contribution

We have been supporting the development and growth of NOVA For Women & Children since 2015.

Nova for Women and Children is the amalgamation of Eva's Project, Lower Hunter Women's Housing and Eastlake's Women's and Children's Refuge.

The three women's services operated independently from each other in Newcastle for approximately 25 years until Evas Project and Lower Hunter Women's housing services amalgamated in July 2008 and in 2014 Eastlake's Women's and Children's Refuge joined Nova, following the Specialist Homeless services (SHS ) reforms.

Eva's Project originated through the women's refuge movement where it was identified that domestic violence was a major contributor to homelessness for women with dependent children. It was seen that there was a gap for women that required supported accommodation.

Lower Hunter Women's Housing was an initiative of Housing NSW that considered women with or without dependent children who were homeless or at risk of homelessness with complex needs required supported transitional accommodation.

Eastlakes women's and Children's Refuge started as a volunteer organisation. Government funding was secured through the women's refuge movement and indicated recognition of the validity of the organisation in delivering domestic violence and homelessness services. Over time the service secured two purpose built premises in the Lake Macquarie region for crisis services.
